Hello Dreamscape Explorers!
Another busy month in the books, and another one scheduled. This month I will be a part of two group shows! One is Day and Night in Austin for the month of April with the opening reception on April 10th from 7pm to 10pm. If you're available I’d love for you to come and say hi, plus there is some BOMB Jamaican food in the gallery lot. And second I will be a part of a group show in Houston. This is the first time my work will be shown in Houston and I’m so thrilled to be sharing my work in new spaces and places. The show is called “Abstraction” with Cultured Connections. Opening night will be April 18th from 4pm to 6pm but the show will be up for 3 months with the closing show being June 30th from 4pm to 6pm. So there will be plenty of time to get to see the show. Another exciting thing that's going on is a piece of my work “Her” is part of an auction for the Miss Juneteenth San Antonio Pageant. The Miss Juneteenth Pageant, hosted by House of Proper (HOP Etiquette), is redefining what it means to participate in pageantry. Rather than focusing solely on competition, this experience centers on personal growth, self confidence, and meaningful community connection. To empower and support individuals by speaking life into them, while celebrating culture, community, and mental health in an uplifting environment. I also want to tell you about what I’m currently working on. I am creating a cohesive body of work! So far the working title for the show I’m building is “Running With Scissors”. This work will be within the same world building as Phantasmal, Grim, Rapture, and Decay but will be tied together through interlude. In this collection Interlude will be the colour pallet of a sunrise with fluffy marshmallow clouds. And signed with an intoxicating neon pink thread. I can't wait to see how this work unfolds, and to create an immersive experience where you are stepping into a new world.
